Dale Pring MacSweeney

DALE PRING MacSWEENEY

Dale Pring was born in London where her parents inspired and encouraged her to appreciate the arts, especially music and painting.

The family moved from North Kensington to Richmond in Surrey when she was twelve and she was fortunate enough to find a mentor who taught her at school and also to be able to take weekend classes at Wimbledon School of Art. She graduated at Wimbledon School of Art and Waltham Forest (whose teachers were predominantly Royal Academicians).

In 1980 she married consultant psychiatrist/novelist/ poet and wit, Dr David MacSweeney and had a flourishing career, exhibiting at major galleries in the UK (especially London) and abroad.

In 1992 she chose to live in California and established a very successful career with galleries all over the states.

Since 1999 Dale has lived in a magnificent country house estate in Suffolk and her main preoccupation is working on interior/exteriors and still lifes.

THE PRINTS
The Prints are reproductions of the paintings Dale did in unique situations and show that she paints exactly what she sees.

The views overlooking the River Thames were from a studio at the top of a 1960's tower block at Battersea Bridge, and the Hollywood series painted in a "ballroom" in Los Angeles.
